Overview

KPMG is seeking a Manager for its Business Tax Services practice in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves managing a portfolio of real estate clients, providing high-quality tax service and advice, and leading teams of tax professionals. The position offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative culture that emphasizes innovation in tax solutions and inclusivity.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of real estate clients and serve as the primary contact for clients
  • Build and maintain client relationships by delivering high-quality tax service and advice
  • Work as part of a cross-functional account team collaborating across audit, tax, and advisory
  • Oversee financial performance of client engagements, including billing and budgeting
  • Participate in market and business activities to support practices in high growth sectors

Required skills

  • Minimum five years of recent experience as a tax manager in a public accounting firm
  • Partnership tax experience specific to real estate and real estate private equity funds
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • Licensed CPA, JD/LLM or EA
  • Proficiency in the taxation of REITs, partnerships, and flow-through entities
  • Exceptional skills in reviewing 1120-REIT and 1065 tax returns
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams
