Overview

The Lifeguard at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area will supervise swimming activities and ensure the safety of patrons at the South Troy Pool from June to September. This role involves maintaining a clean environment, responding to emergencies, and enforcing safety regulations in the pool area.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise swimming activities and ensure safety policies are followed.
  • Warn swimmers about improper activities and enforce pool regulations.
  • Administer swim tests and first aid when necessary.
  • Evaluate conditions for safety and implement emergency action plans.
  • Inspect pool facilities and equipment for usability.
  • Attend mandatory in-service trainings and maintain swimming proficiency.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned.

Required skills

  • Legal knowledge related to water safety
  • CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Ability to evaluate water conditions and hazards
  • Swimming proficiency in various water conditions
