Overview

The Legal Personnel Manager - U.S. at Reed Smith LLP plays a crucial role in delivering HR support for attorneys and timekeepers, focusing on compliance, performance management, and employee relations. This position collaborates closely with practice group leadership and serves as an HR business partner across various departments.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as HR Business Partner to assigned practice groups.
  • Advise on HR compliance and performance management concerns.
  • Manage aspects of the employment life cycle including onboarding and terminations.
  • Review and analyze practice group metrics for HR issues.
  • Assist with the performance management and evaluation processes.
  • Support HR aspects of secondments and maintain confidentiality.
  • Address employee engagement and retention issues.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and U.S. employment laws.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and influencing skills.
