Overview

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer specializing in Modeling, Simulation & Analysis to support the Mission Analysis Group in Herndon, VA. The role involves leading a team in the development of analytical toolsets for simulation and experimentation across multiple domains, addressing both internal and external customer needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and direct experienced professionals and lower-level supervisors.
  • Communicate and influence changes to policies and practices.
  • Make significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.
  • Establish short-term operational plans to contribute to business area results.
  • Coordinate MS&A engineering efforts to integrate system performance into operational analysis.
  • Design multi-domain simulation capabilities in AFSIM, MATLAB, and STK.
  • Document model specifications for simulation capabilities at multiple classification levels.
  • Support various programs by creating models, simulations, and analysis products.
  • Develop new simulation capabilities and processes.
  • Support technical expos and roadshows for knowledge sharing.

Required skills

  • DoD TOP SECRET security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 9 years of experience or Graduate degree with 7 years of experience or 13 years of related
  • Experience in MS&A analytic tools: AFSIM, PIANO, STK/Astrogator
  • Integration of Gov/Industry simulations with MBSE tools: Cameo, ModelCenter, DOORS, Rhapsody
  • Scripting languages knowledge: Python, C++, C#, R, MATLAB
  • Agile development methodology and version control tools: JIRA, Confluence, Git
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis multi-domain related problems
