Overview

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to oversee the execution of complex hardware and software systems for airborne platforms, focusing on their Digital ICE product line. This role entails guiding cross-functional engineering teams, ensuring compliance with technical, cost, and schedule requirements while serving as a key interface with customers throughout the program lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and execute program activities
  • Document and approve program plans
  • Ensure adherence to life-cycle processes
  • Identify and manage risks
  • Interact with customers and senior leadership
  • Coordinate overall program during its lifecycle
  • Lead engineering teams in program execution and bid/proposal activities
  • Provide technical leadership for integration challenges
  • Track engineering performance metrics and program status
  • Ensure compliance with engineering processes and safety standards

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of experience or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in program planning, guidance, and engineering execution
  • Understanding of engineering processes and policies
  • Experience in Aircraft Integration, Test and Delivery
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Experience in Software/Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Project Engineering
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance
  • Leadership experience in program or functional roles
  • Excellent communication skills
