Job Description

Overview

The Lead Medical Technologist at Skaggs Community Hospital Association is responsible for performing tests on blood and body fluids to determine health conditions and ensure compliance with laboratory policies and procedures. This role includes overseeing daily workflow management and using clinical knowledge to assess testing results.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform tests on blood and body fluids to identify diseases and monitor treatment responses
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory policies and quality control standards
  • Manage daily workflow and collaborate with supervisors on staffing and procedures
  • Utilize critical thinking to assess and correlate testing results with clinical information
  • Lead project teams for automation projects

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma with Grandfathered CLIA status
  • At least 1-year related experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills with different management levels
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organization, decision-making, and planning skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs, especially Excel
  • Certified as a Medical Technologist (ASCP)/Clinical Laboratory Scientist or eligible for certification
