Overview

As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Capital One, you will join an Agile team focused on productionizing machine learning applications and systems at scale. Your role will involve designing, developing, and implementing machine learning applications, ensuring high availability and performance, and collaborating with teams to solve complex problems with innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and build ML models and components to solve business problems
  • Collaborate with Product and Data Science teams
  • Automate tests and deployment for ML models
  • Maintain and monitor models in production
  • Construct optimized data pipelines for ML models
  • Ensure deployment of ML models using CI/CD best practices
  • Govern ML code and models to reduce vulnerabilities
  • Lead teams in developing ML solutions using industry best practices

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 6+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions
  • 4+ years of programming experience with Python, Scala, or Java
  • 2+ years of experience building, scaling, and optimizing ML systems
  • Experience with ML frameworks like scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow
  • Experience developing performant and maintainable code
  • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
  • Experience designing and scaling complex data pipelines
