Job Description

Overview

As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Capital One, you will be part of an Agile team focused on productionizing machine learning applications and systems at scale. Your role will include designing, building, and implementing machine learning models, collaborating with product and data science teams, and ensuring the performance and reliability of these applications.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deliver ML models and components to solve business problems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to enhance big data and ML applications
  • Write and test application code, develop and validate ML models, and automate tests and deployment
  • Construct optimized data pipelines to support ML models
  • Leverage cloud-based technologies for scaling ML models
  • Monitor and maintain models in production and ensure adherence to best practices in AI

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 6+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions
  • 4+ years of programming experience in Python, Scala, or Java
  • Experience with ML frameworks like scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow
  • Expertise in building and optimizing ML systems
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Understanding of ML modeling techniques and governance practices
