Job Description

Overview

As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Capital One, you'll join an Agile team focused on productionizing machine learning applications and systems at scale. Your responsibilities will include the technical design, development, and implementation of machine learning solutions, where you'll work collaboratively with product and data science teams to solve real-world business problems.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deliver ML models and components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to enhance software for big data and ML applications.
  • Write and test application code, develop and validate ML models, and automate tests and deployment.
  • Monitor and maintain models in production.
  • Construct optimized data pipelines for ML models.
  • Leverage cloud-based architectures to optimize ML model delivery.
  • Ensure software governance and compliance with best practices in AI.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 6+ years of experience designing data-intensive solutions
  • 4+ years of programming experience with Python, Scala, or Java
  • Experience with ML frameworks like scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow
  • 2+ years of experience building and optimizing ML systems
  • Experience developing and deploying ML solutions in public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platfo
  • Knowledge of ML modeling techniques including hyperparameter tuning and validation
