Comrise is looking for a powerhouse Lead Dimensional Engineer to own dimensional management and sensor integration across multiple cutting-edge autonomous vehicle platforms. This is a high-visibility, mission-critical role where you will bridge the gap between advanced sensor hardware, vehicle architecture, and high-precision manufacturing. If you are a master of dimensional variation who wants to directly shape the deployment of safe, next-generation autonomous fleets, this is the ultimate opportunity for your career! Why This Opportunity Sizzles Elite Compensation: $105.67 USD Per Hour (Strict W2 Contract) Cutting-Edge Tech: Drive sub-millimeter precision for next-gen LiDAR, Radar, and Camera suites on multi-platform architectures. Ultimate Authority: Concurrently own dimensional strategy across parallel vehicle programs making high-impact architectural decisions. Prime Bay Area Location: Work fully in-person at a state-of-the-art facility in Foster City, CA. What You Will Do Multi-Program Architectural Leadership: Serve as the primary dimensional authority for sensor integration across parallel vehicle platforms, managing massive architectural workloads concurrently. Datum and Tolerance Strategy: Define vehicle build requirements, establish robust datum schemes, sensor mounting locator strategies, and tolerance allocations to guarantee rock-solid sensor-to-body and sensor-to-sensor co-calibration stability. Metrology and Fixture Innovation: Define comprehensive measurement strategies from single components to full vehicle assembly; review and formally approve internal and supplier metrology fixture concepts. Cross-Functional Design Feedback: Provide active architectural loop feedback regarding layout changes needed to ensure vehicle body structures and sensor brackets are reliably manufacturable and assemblable. Supplier Capability and PPAP: Partner directly with Supplier Quality (SQ) teams to evaluate supplier capability, establish dimensional acceptance criteria, and resolve engineering escalations to protect program milestones. What We Are Looking For Industry Experience: 8 to 10 years of dedicated experience in dimensional management, variation simulation, or metrology within the automotive, aerospace, or autonomous robotics sectors. AV Sensor Mastery: Deep technical understanding of the unique dimensional, structural, and alignment requirements for AV sensor suites (LiDAR, Radar, Cameras). Advanced Variation and GD and T: Expertise in performing both 1D and 3D Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) stack-ups, alongside advanced-level proficiency in ASME Y14.5 GD and T principles. CAD and 3DX Proficiency: Hands-on experience using CATIA V6 and 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) to visualize, manipulate, and interrogate 3D models, create reference geometry, and map critical functional datums. Statistical Rigor: Strong background in Variation Simulation Analysis tools, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Gauge R and R studies, and process capability metrics (Cp, Cpk). Education: Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Fixture Design Engineering, or a closely related field. Role Specifics and Logistics Employment Type: Full-time Contract (30+ hours/week) Target Assignment End Date: August 17, 2026 Work Environment: 100% Onsite in Foster City, CA Interview Process: 30-minute Manager Zoom screening followed by a 1.5-hour panel interview (includes a required on-site component). Work Authorization Note: Our client is currently unable to support individuals who require visa sponsorship or other employment authorization accommodations. Candidates must be authorized to work on a W2 basis without sponsorship. Ready to Drive the Future of Mobility?
