Overview

As a Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will be at the forefront of creating responsible AI systems that transform banking experiences. You will work within the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team, collaborating with various cross-functional partners to build and deploy innovative AI solutions that enhance customer interactions and support the company's mission to leverage AI for high-impact outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including model training and evaluation.
  • Utilize a range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies for building scalable solutions.
  • Introduce optimization techniques for large-scale production AI systems.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 4 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of AI and ML technologies including LLM inference and similarity search.
