Overview

As a Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will play a key role in creating responsible and reliable AI systems that transform the banking experience. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products, using state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies to enhance both associate workflows and customer interactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, and product managers to develop AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components and systems
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies for model training and inference
  • Introduce optimization techniques for large-scale production AI systems
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • 4+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience in deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
  • Knowledge of LLM Inference, Similarity Search, and other AI technologies
  • Ability to apply state-of-the-art optimization techniques for AI systems
