Overview

As a Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team to design and implement advanced AI systems that enhance customer interactions and internal operations. The role focuses on leveraging cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to create responsible and scalable AI solutions that drive significant value for the business and its customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
  • Utilize a range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies for various applications
  • Invent and apply optimization techniques for large-scale production AI systems
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • 4+ years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
  • Experience in designing and developing AI services
  • Familiarity with LLM Inference, Similarity Search, VectorDBs, and guardrails
