Overview

The Lead AI Engineer at Capital One will be pivotal in creating responsible AI systems that enhance banking experiences. This role involves working with a cross-functional team to develop and implement AI-powered products while leveraging cutting-edge technologies and methods in AI and machine learning.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, researchers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
  • Leverage various Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
  • Invent and optimize large language model techniques for production AI systems.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, or related fields.
  • 4+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Strong knowledge of AI and ML techniques including LLM Inference and VectorDBs.
  • Passion for AI research and application of novel techniques in production.
