Overview

The Lead AI Engineer at Capital One will be pivotal in creating responsible and reliable AI systems to transform banking. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions and improve associate workflows.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
  • Leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
  • Invent and introduce LLM optimization techniques to enhance performance.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
  • 4+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with LLM Inference, Similarity Search, Guardrails, and Memory techniques.
