Overview

The Lead AI Engineer for AI Foundations at Capital One will be instrumental in creating responsible and reliable AI systems that enhance banking experiences. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and deploy AI software components, utilizing advanced technologies to support innovative solutions that meet customer needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies for model training and evaluation.
  • Invent and implement LLM optimization techniques.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • 4+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of AI services design and development.
  • Experience with large language model inference, similarity searches, and guardrails.
