Overview

As a Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will be instrumental in developing responsible and reliable AI systems to transform banking experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that enhance both internal processes and customer interactions, leveraging advanced AI technologies to create scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design and deliver AI-powered products
  • Develop, test, and deploy AI software components including foundation model training and large language model inference
  • Utilize a variety of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies
  • Introduce optimization techniques to enhance performance of AI systems
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • 4+ years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies
  • Proficiency in programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
  • Familiarity with AI technologies like LLM Inference, Similarity Search, and VectorDBs
  • Ability to apply state-of-the-art AI techniques in production
