Overview

The Lead AI Engineer at Capital One will lead the development of responsible and reliable AI systems, enhancing customer experiences through advanced machine learning applications. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products, improving banking services and establishing Capital One as an industry leader in AI technology.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers
  • Introduce optimization techniques for large scale production AI systems
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of foundational AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • At least 4 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies
  • Proficiency in programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Experience with LLM Inference, Similarity Search, and VectorDBs
  • Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics
