Job Description

Overview

As the Lead AI Engineer at Capital One, you will contribute to the development of responsible AI systems that enhance banking experiences for customers. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products, working on foundational AI systems that improve operations and customer interactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including model training and evaluation.
  • Utilize a range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies for implementation.
  • Invent and apply state-of-the-art techniques for AI system optimization.
  • Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap of AI systems.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 4 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of AI techniques including LLM inference and similarity search.
