Overview

The JV Field Hockey Coach at Governors School in Richmond, Virginia is responsible for coaching student-athletes to develop skills and foster discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. This seasonal position runs approximately from August through early November 2026.

Key responsibilities

  • Instruct and teach necessary skill sets and techniques for individual and team achievement
  • Plan and set up activities, practices, and games
  • Develop training programs and practice schedules
  • Coordinate transportation and accommodations for game attendees
  • Ensure proper maintenance and inventory of athletic equipment
  • Maintain necessary records and complete required paperwork
  • Enforce discipline policies and promote healthy lifestyles
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices and games
  • Complete injury reports for any student injuries
  • Attend League Coaches' meetings or delegate attendance
  • Maintain certifications and training hours as required

Required skills
