Job Description

Overview

Clevanoo LLC is seeking a Junior Real Estate Associate to join their nationally ranked Band 1 Real Estate Practice in Washington, D.C. Ideal candidates will have 1-3 years of experience in real estate transactions or finance, preferably from a BigLaw or comparable firm, and will engage in sophisticated institutional real estate deals.

Key responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate Purchase & Sale Agreements, loan agreements, mortgages, and Joint Venture agreements
  • Manage transaction and closing checklists
  • Coordinate signatures and closing deliverables for multi-party transactions
  • Conduct due diligence reviews involving title, survey, zoning, and lease reviews
  • Coordinate with title companies, surveyors, and local counsel
  • Participate in client and opposing counsel calls
  • Assist with mortgage financings, mezzanine financings, and joint venture formations

Required skills

  • J.D. degree and active bar admission
  • 1-3 years of post-bar experience in real estate transactions and/or finance
  • Experience at a BigLaw or comparable firm
  • Strong drafting, due diligence, and transaction management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in lean deal teams
  • Experience representing both lenders and borrowers
  • Exposure to mezzanine debt, preferred equity structures, subscription finance facilities, and complex capital stack tran
  • Experience handling institutional-scale commercial real estate transactions
