Overview

CFS is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a nonprofit organization in Columbus, Ohio. This role involves providing executive-level financial leadership during a transition period, partnering with the CEO and Board of Trustees to ensure financial stability and operational continuity.

Key responsibilities

  • Stabilize and oversee core financial operations, including cash management and reporting
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to leadership and the Board
  • Lead cash flow forecasting and liquidity management across multiple funding sources
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks during the transition
  • Support strategic planning and organizational decision-making
  • Maintain financial policies, procedures, and compliance standards
  • Prepare for a smooth transition to a permanent CFO

Required skills

  • Proven experience as an Interim or Transitional CFO, preferably in a nonprofit
  • Background in cash management and liquidity forecasting
  • Experience with month-end and year-end close processes and internal controls
  • Demonstrated experience working with CEOs and Boards of Directors
  • Ability to navigate organizational change and financial uncertainty
  • Understanding of nonprofit financial operations and compliance

What the company offers

  • Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000, commensurate with experience
