Overview

At New Story Schools, the Instructional Coach plays a vital role in empowering students with autism and behavioral challenges by strengthening teaching practices through collaborative, student-centered coaching. The position emphasizes building educator capacity, promoting effective instruction, and ensuring positive outcomes for all learners.

Key responsibilities

  • Coach teachers through observation, modeling, dialogue, and co-teaching practices
  • Support alignment of instruction with standards, curriculum, and assessments
  • Promote inclusive, engaging, student-centered learning environments
  • Provide professional development to increase educator effectiveness
  • Collaborate with school leaders to analyze data and support improvement planning

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education or a related field
  • Valid Pennsylvania Instructional II Special Education certification
  • Experience supporting instructional practice through coaching or mentoring
  • Strong knowledge of standards-based instruction and curriculum alignment
  • Ability to build trust through non-evaluative, collaborative relationships
