Overview

Palo Alto Community Child Care is looking for a qualified Infant - Toddler Teacher to join their team. The role involves working with children aged 2 months to 2 years, creating a nurturing environment that promotes growth and learning through age-appropriate curriculum and activities. The teacher will also maintain a clean and safe center while communicating effectively with parents about their child's progress.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum
  • Assess children's progress and communicate with parents
  • Maintain a clean and organized center
  • Supervise children during various activities
  • Encourage self-expression through art and music
  • Document significant behaviors and incidents accurately
  • Observe children for signs of health or emotional issues
  • Assist in children's physical, cognitive, and social development

Required skills

  • Completion of 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff
  • Child Development Permit (preferred)
  • Bilingual capabilities (preferred)
  • Experience with Reggio Emilia and/or Play-Based philosophy (preferred)
  • Ability to safely lift 30 pounds
  • Familiarity with technology integration in the classroom (preferred)

What the company offers

  • 8-hour full-time shifts between 7:30am-6:00pm
  • 40 hours per week
  • Full benefits package
  • Hourly wage of $24.65 to $31.36
