Overview

Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking an In-House Counsel with a focus on healthcare law to provide legal guidance on compliance, contracts, and risk management. This role involves working with executive leadership, clinical teams, and outside counsel to ensure alignment between business practices and legal requirements while supporting the organization's mission to deliver high-quality community healthcare.

Key responsibilities

  • Support compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various types of contracts
  • Advise on corporate bylaws and risk management strategies
  • Assist with patient care legal matters and compliance questions
  • Coordinate with external counsel on specialized litigation and regulatory issues
  • Provide practical recommendations on legal risks to leadership

Required skills

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Active Florida Bar membership
  • Minimum 2 years of legal experience preferred
  • Experience in healthcare law, compliance, and corporate transactions
  • Strong legal drafting and contract negotiation skills
  • Understanding of healthcare privacy and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication skills for non-legal professionals
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
