Job Description

Overview

As a Hospital Laboratory Director at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Bluffton, Georgia, you will oversee laboratory operations and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on staffing, financial management, and quality assurance while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and open communication within the department.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct laboratory operations, programs, and activities to meet organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure adequate staffing through hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Develop and mentor staff with regular feedback and coaching.
  • Set and execute department strategies for service quality, compliance, financial management, and patient satisfaction.
  • Monitor financial operations and prepare Monthly Operating Review reports.
  • Ensure compliance with standards from accrediting agencies.
  • Manage vendor relationships and supply contracts.
  • Foster open communication within the department regarding operations.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology or Chemistry
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • National Certification as a Medical Technologist
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive laboratory management experience
  • Experience in complex laboratory operations
