Overview

As the Hospital Laboratory Director at Memorial Health University Medical Center, you will lead operations and programs to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards while fostering innovation. You will be responsible for staffing, financial oversight, and continuous improvement in laboratory services to enhance patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct operations and programs to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and manage performance evaluations.
  • Develop staff through coaching and regular feedback.
  • Set and execute department strategies for quality and compliance.
  • Oversee the financial operations of the laboratory.
  • Assure compliance with standards from accrediting agencies.
  • Manage vendor relationships and supply contracts.
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans for staff.
  • Delegate responsibilities while monitoring staff activities for efficiency.

Required skills

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology or Chemistry.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • National Certification as a Medical Technologist.
  • 3+ years of progressive laboratory management experience.
  • Hospital clinical laboratory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
