Overview

The Hospice Director of Admissions at Vitas Healthcare is a senior leadership role responsible for guiding the Admissions Department's strategy, operations, and performance. This position emphasizes leadership development, customer service, and compliance, while fostering a positive work environment and collaborating with various leadership levels to enhance program performance and growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Admissions Department staff through training, coaching, and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with leadership across the organization to improve performance and program initiatives.
  • Ensure the Admissions Department participates in developing strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee customer service initiatives and address program-related complaints.
  • Manage compliance with operational standards and conduct regular audits.
  • Monitor staffing, recruitment, and retention initiatives within the department.
  • Utilize data analysis for performance improvement and report on key metrics.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of nursing experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role preferred.
  • Hospice admissions experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with technology and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, MS Teams, SharePoint, PowerBI).
  • Ability to develop strategies and solutions for performance improvement.
  • Knowledge of industry policies and practices.
