Overview

The Hospice Director of Admissions (RN) at Vitas Healthcare is a senior leadership role responsible for the management and strategic direction of the Admissions Department. This position focuses on enhancing program performance through quality improvement initiatives, customer service excellence, and effective workforce management.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the Admissions Department and develop nursing and admissions staff through training and coaching.
  • Collaborate with various teams to improve program performance and growth.
  • Create and implement a strategic plan for the Admissions Department.
  • Ensure a customer-service oriented approach within the department.
  • Oversee compliance with operational standards and conduct regular audits.
  • Manage training, staffing, recruitment, and retention initiatives.
  • Support achievement of program KPIs and performance metrics.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of nursing experience
  • 3+ years in a leadership or management role
  • Hospice admissions experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with technology and data analysis
  • Ability to develop strategies for performance improvement
  • Knowledge of industry policies and practices
  • Ability to motivate and develop staff
