Job Description

Overview

The Home Equity Loan Processor at Altra Federal Credit Union is responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of home equity loan applications from start to finish. This role emphasizes collecting and verifying documentation while ensuring compliance with lending regulations and internal policies, all within a fast-paced, member-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Review home equity loan applications for accuracy and completeness
  • Verify employment, income, and assets for eligibility and compliance
  • Order and review appraisals, title searches, and other supporting documents
  • Monitor Loan Origination System (LOS) queues and draft home equity documents
  • Build and maintain relationships with sales, underwriting, processing, and closing staff
  • Catch and fix errors on loan applications and resolve issues
  • Process, fund, and disburse new home equity loans
  • Perform end-of-day closing procedures including balancing national branches

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of financial experience
  • Lending experience preferred
  • Understanding of credit union policies and NCUA regulations
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
