Together, we're improving health and improving lives.Labcorp is seeking a Histotechnician to join our team inSeattle, WAWork Schedule: Monday-Friday 4:30AM-12:00PMJob ResponsibilitiesProcess human tissue and body fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic examPerform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides of surgical specimensSection the embedded tissue, using a microtome and mount the section properly on a microscope slidePerform various immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sectionsProcess mounted sections through routine and special staining proceduresProperly orient andembedsurgical tissue specimensPrepare the stains and reagents needed for special proceduresReport accurate and timely test resultsin order todeliver quality patient care Operate and maintain manual and automated instrumentsPerform and document equipment maintenance as neededRecord equipment log data in an accurate and timely mannerPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures Adhereto the laboratory's quality control policiesFollow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, analysis and reportingDocument problems that may affect test performance and perform corrective actions as neededMinimum Qualifications Associate's degree in Histology or a High School diploma or equivalent with 1 or more yearsof histologyexperience Preferred Qualification: Current or prior Labcorp experienceHistology and/or ASCP certifications 6 months or moreImmunohistochemistry experienceAdditional Job StandardsFamiliarity with routine histology procedures and equipmentImmunohistochemistry experience Comfortability embedding both large and small specimens Ability to accurately read all labels and documentsHighly organized with a strong attention to detailExperience working in ahigh volumelaboratory environment Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocolsAble to pass a standardized color blindness test Pay Range: $29.10 - $44.47 per hourAll job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience and the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between Dynacare Northwest, Inc. and United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 21. Benefits:Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), accrue up to 18 days of Annual Leave per year (includes 8 holidays) and Sick Leave (0.0333) hours of sick leave for each hour of work) capped at 64 hours per year, Tuition Reimbursement and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
