Overview

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is seeking a part-time 12th grade English teacher dedicated to fostering intellectual, moral, and spiritual growth among students. The role emphasizes culturally responsive teaching and data-driven instruction to help close achievement gaps and prepare students for future success.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement a standards-based curriculum aligned with Cristo Rey Network benchmarks.
  • Use formative and summative data to adjust instruction and close learning gaps.
  • Deliver rigorous, culturally responsive lessons that differentiate for student needs.
  • Provide targeted tutoring and academic support during office hours.
  • Foster a classroom culture grounded in cura personalis and PBIS principles.
  • Participate in continued professional development and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Contribute to the Cristo Rey community outside of classroom responsibilities.
  • Model values consistent with Catholic, Jesuit education and service to others.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Proficient in using technology for teaching and learning (e.g., Canvas, PowerSchool)
  • Competency in designing and implementing diverse curricula
  • Commitment to the mission of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred
  • Teaching license in the primary discipline preferred
  • Prior successful middle or high school teaching experience preferred
