Overview

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is seeking a part-time 12th grade English teacher in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to inspire and educate students in their intellectual, moral, and spiritual development. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence and equity, using data to inform instruction and personalize learning while fostering a classroom culture aligned with Jesuit values.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement standards-based curriculum aligned with Cristo Rey Network benchmarks
  • Use data to adjust instruction and close learning gaps
  • Deliver culturally responsive lessons that differentiate for student needs
  • Provide targeted tutoring and academic support during office hours
  • Foster a classroom culture grounded in cura personalis and PBIS principles
  • Participate in regular coaching cycles using the Danielson Framework
  • Engage in continued professional development and collaboration with colleagues
  • Model values consistent with Catholic, Jesuit education and service to others

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Proficiency in technology for teaching and learning (e.g., Canvas, PowerSchool)
  • Competency in designing and implementing curricula for diverse student populations
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred
  • Teaching license in the primary discipline preferred
  • Prior experience in middle or high school teaching in urban settings preferred
