Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join its Pottstown Division. This role involves operating heavy equipment to meet daily production goals while adhering to safety protocols and maintenance standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Control operation and movement of machines using levers and pedals
  • Listen for engine stalling to operate equipment efficiently
  • Clean equipment as scheduled and maintain it by checking fluids
  • Perform daily checks on equipment to ensure proper operating condition
  • Notify shop foreman of maintenance or repair needs
  • Complete other assigned duties

Required skills

  • One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school OR six months of related experience and/or training
  • Ability to pass practical skills test for heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, and loaders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to utilize appropriate PPE as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job
