Job Description

Overview

The H&K Group is seeking a Groundperson to support production and maintenance during the second shift at Birdsboro Quarry. The ideal candidate must be safety-focused, action-oriented, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a team environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Maintain clean work areas including catwalks, walkways, and general plant area
  • Proactively learn plant functions and operations
  • Obtain knowledge to complete assigned tasks
  • Take direction from and collaborate with other site personnel
  • Cross train to learn all jobs of the plant and substitute when necessary
  • Perform plant maintenance and other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • One month of related experience and/or training
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Mathematical skills including the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet physical requirements related to the job
  • Experience in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries (preferred)
  • OSHA or other relevant safety certifications (preferred)
