Job Description

Overview

Belvidere Sand & Gravel, a partner with The H&K Group, is seeking an experienced Groundperson to support production and maintenance operations. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and works well in a team environment. A CDL license is not required for this position.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Conduct plant maintenance and maintain clean work areas
  • Proactively learn plant functions and operations
  • Take direction from and collaborate with site personnel
  • Cross-train to learn various jobs within the plant and substitute as necessary
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work first or second shift
  • Physical ability to meet job requirements including lifting up to 100 pounds
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, preferably loaders
  • Experience in a quarry or outdoor industrial setting
  • Willingness to use appropriate PPE
