Overview

HMP Properties is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead hotel operations in Williamsburg, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and the ability to motivate teams to create exceptional guest experiences while driving financial success.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee daily hotel operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences
  • Maintain high standards for cleanliness, service, safety, and property appearance
  • Manage hotel budgets, labor costs, and operational expenses
  • Develop strategies to maximize revenue, occupancy, and profitability
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop department leaders and hotel associates
  • Build relationships with guests, clients, and community leaders
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and safety regulations
  • Conduct regular property inspections and lead continuous improvement initiatives

Required skills

  • Previous hotel leadership or General Manager experience
  • Strong operational, financial, and leadership skills
  • Passion for hospitality and guest service excellence
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and hotel systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and hotel management systems
  • CHA designation is a plus
