Overview

Zolman's Best One Tire & Service is looking for a full-time General Automotive Service Technician for their West Kalamazoo, MI location. The role involves tire installation, maintenance, and repair, as well as fluid exchanges and general mechanical tasks. The company prioritizes safety, teamwork, and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Remove, install, rotate, balance, and perform flat repairs on tires
  • Inspect vehicles using inspection forms and report potential repairs
  • Perform basic maintenance and mechanical repairs, including oil changes
  • Safely operate shop machinery and tools
  • Work closely with management to educate customers on diagnoses
  • Perform general housekeeping duties
  • Set up and store tire racks and displays
  • Help load/unload delivery trucks

Required skills

  • 1-2 years of General Auto Service experience
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Mechanical skills and ability to operate diagnostics equipment
  • Knowledge of tire installation and repair processes
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Customer service skills and a friendly demeanor
  • Safety awareness and ability to follow safety protocols
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage responsibilities
