In compliance with CCSNH policies and state regulations, eligibility for employment within CCSNH and its institutions requires residency within a New England state.Position SummaryGreat Bay Community College seeks a qualified instructor to teach three non-credit courses: NCBM 105-Part Design in Solidworks; NCBM 106-Assemblies in Solidworks; NCBM107-Design Communication in Solidworks that provide a comprehensive introduction to SolidWorks CAD software for engineering, product design, and manufacturing applications. The instructor will guide students through 3D modeling, part design, assembly creation, technical drawing, and design-for-manufacturing principles, preparing them for careers in automated manufacturing, engineering design, and related fields.Scope of WorkThe instructor will be responsible for:Delivering instruction across all course topics, including: SolidWorks interface, tools, and workflowsSketching fundamentals (lines, circles, arcs, splines) and applying constraints/dimensions3D part modeling (extrusion, revolution, lofting, adding/subtracting material)Advanced part modeling and design intent in parametric modelingAssembly modeling, component relationships, and mates2D technical drawing generation with correct views, dimensions, and annotationsExploded views and assembly instructions for manufacturingIntroductory rendering, animation, and motion analysisBasic tolerances and fits in mechanical designUse of SolidWorks design libraries and templatesFile export for 3D printing, CNC machining, and other manufacturing processesPlanning and leading a blend of lecture/discussion and hands-on lab activities (2 theory hours + 3 lab hours weekly)Designing and facilitating project-based assignments and design review sessionsDeveloping and administering reading activities with quizzes, lab reports, and (optionally) practical examsProviding timely, constructive feedback on student design workEvaluating student progress against the 15 stated course objectives (e.g., sketching mastery, assembly creation, design intent, tolerances/fits, file export for manufacturing)Maintaining course records, grades, and attendance in accordance with college policyEnsuring lab safety procedures are followed, particularly where 3D printers or shop equipment are usedMinimum QualificationsAssociate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Design, Drafting, or a closely related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks, including part modeling, assembly design, and 2D drawing creationProfessional experience applying CAD/SolidWorks in an engineering, manufacturing, product design, or drafting settingWorking knowledge of 3D printing technologies and design-for-additive-manufacturing principlesAbility to teach both foundational and intermediate CAD concepts to students with little to no prior experienceStrong communication and classroom/lab facilitation skillsPrior teaching, training, or mentoring experience preferred (college-level instruction a plus)SolidWorks certification (e.g., CSWA, CSWP) preferred but not requiredApplication ProcessSubmit an application online including: Cover letter describing relevant SolidWorks/CAD and teaching or training experienceCurrent resume or CVContact information for two to three professional referencesOptional: portfolio or samples of CAD/design work (models, drawings, or projects)Great Bay Community
