Overview

The Front End Lead Trainee at Giant Eagle plays a crucial role in enhancing customer loyalty and ensuring efficient operations at the front end of the store. This position supports the Front End Leader and focuses on maximizing team member and guest satisfaction through effective management and customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain consistent coverage of Self Checkout activities to ensure accurate sales capture and exceptional guest service.
  • Direct traffic flow for speedy checkout to meet guest needs.
  • Create and manage daily schedules for optimal efficiency.
  • Monitor cash control procedures and assist with overrides or questions from cashiers.
  • Take ownership of auxiliary Front End lines of business when assigned.
  • Ensure daily compliance activities are completed and take ownership of specific compliance topics.
  • Order Front End supplies while being cost-conscious.
  • Train and coach Front End Team Members on best practices and loss prevention tactics.
