Overview

The Food Service Associate at Kelley's Market plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service. This position involves maintaining a clean and organized food preparation area, serving customers efficiently, and ensuring adherence to food safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare, assemble, and serve fresh food and beverages
  • Provide fast, friendly, and courteous service to customers
  • Operate food prep equipment and POS systems accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness of food service areas, including prep stations and dining areas
  • Restock and rotate food items using FIFO practices
  • Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Complete assigned tasks, including temperature logs and equipment cleaning
  • Accurately process transactions and handle cash
  • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership
  • Uphold safety and security procedures

Required skills

  • Customer service experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills for cash handling
  • Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Prior experience in a convenience store or food service environment (preferred)
