Overview

Plasser American Corp is seeking a Fluid Power Engineer to support its Engineering group in Chesapeake, Virginia. The role involves applying fluid power theory and engineering principles to design, test, and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems for mobile equipment used in the railroad industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and troubleshoot operational mobile hydraulic systems
  • Apply fluid power principles in designing complex hydraulic/pneumatic circuits
  • Compile and analyze operational data to establish performance standards
  • Supervise the design and drafting of hydraulic/pneumatic components
  • Plan and develop experimental test programs and analyze test data
  • Interact with various departments for support across product lines

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field
  • 2-5 years of experience in mobile hydraulic design
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Vault, Inventor, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with EPLAN Fluid for hydraulic/pneumatic circuit design
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Certified fluid power hydraulic specialist (CFHPS) preferred
  • Knowledge of current ISO and ANSI standards
