Overview

The Financial Services Analyst 2 at the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources will support various teams within the organization by applying detailed knowledge of UC and ANR accounting, purchasing, travel, and payroll policies. The role involves budget and financial administration, ledger reconciliation, and providing guidance to department heads and managers, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting effective customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as Business Partner and fiscal officer, overseeing transactions for various accounts.
  • Analyze and reconcile budgets and commitments, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Provide direction to financial services staff for accounts payable operations.
  • Process budget entries and maintain staffing lists.
  • Review travel policy and AggieTravel Reports, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Provide analytical support for financial projects and prepare reports for unit managers.
  • Approve cash collections and ensure adherence to UC/ANR policies.
  • Monitor payroll accounts and assist with review and approval of position management.
  • Assist with contract and grant administration, overseeing award management and expenditures.
  • Provide business operations guidance and mentoring to assigned units.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
  • Working knowledge of financial processes and reporting systems.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and database software.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with customer service and effective communication.
