Financial Assistant Department: DBFP (DFSS BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL PLANNING) University of California, Santa Barbara Summary of Job Details: Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Financial Services, independently responsible for the processing, payment, and reconciliation of all accounts payable, accounts receivable, FlexCard, and deposit transactions for DFSS departments (Facilities Management, Design & Construction Services, Environmental Health & Safety, Associate Vice Chancellor, and Business & Financial Planning). Required Qualifications: • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Strong organizational skills. • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants and vendors. • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment. • Solid knowledge of University financial policies and procedures, including but not limited to travel, entertainment, misc. reimbursement, and purchasing. • Must have good attention to detail. • Knowledge of basic accounting principles • Proficient in MS Office programs. (High proficiency) Preferred Qualifications: • Preferred Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree. • 1-3 years Experience in accounts payable, reconciliation and accounting processes. Preferred. Special Conditions of Employment: • Direct access to, or responsibility for, cash and cash equivalents or University property disbursements or receipts • Direct access to, or responsibility for, controlled substances or hazardous materials • Direct access to, and/or responsibility for, protected, personal, or other sensitive data • CANRA (U13): Mandated Child Abuse Reporter • Satisfactory criminal history background check • UCSB is a Tobacco-Free environment Hiring/Budgeted Salary or Hourly Range: $32.91 to $35.26/hour. Salary or Hourly Range: The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $32.91 to $35.26/hour. Full Salary Range: $29.35 to $42.06/hour.
