Overview

The H&K Group is seeking an Experienced Operator to join their crew in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. This role involves operating various types of heavy equipment used in civil construction, ensuring efficient and safe operations while supporting laborers and supervisors.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Control operation, function, and movement of machines
  • Maintain and clean equipment as scheduled
  • Conduct daily checks on equipment to ensure proper operating condition
  • Notify shop foreman of maintenance or repair needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Experience with heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and dump trucks
  • Ability to pass practical skills test for heavy equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE
  • Physical fitness for movement and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Certifications in OSHA or relevant safety standards
