Job Description

Overview

The Executive Minister at Riverside Church will lead and manage the church's programs while developing and supervising the clergy team. This role is pivotal in guiding the church's mission, fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion, and ensuring effective program delivery that reflects the community's needs and values.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, management, and evaluation of Riverside Church's programs.
  • Supervise and develop the clergy program team.
  • Participate as a member of the leadership team with the Senior Minister and COO.
  • Guide strategic planning and service delivery across multiple areas.
  • Develop organizational policies and procedures related to programs.
  • Foster collaborative relationships between program areas.
  • Establish measurable goals and monitor progress for program areas.
  • Budget and monitor programmatic operations in collaboration with leadership.

Required skills

  • Master of Divinity degree
  • Ordination in a recognized denomination
  • 7+ years in management or leadership roles in nonprofit/religious sectors
  • 4+ years of experience supervising and managing staff
  • Experience in multicultural settings
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Ability to lead through change and collaboration
  • Strategic and cross-functional thinking skills
