Overview

Anderson Dahlen is seeking Estimators to prepare accurate cost estimates for fabricated metal components and assemblies. The role involves analyzing metrics, performing risk assessments, and collaborating closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to ensure successful project execution.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for fabricated metal components and assemblies
  • Gather information and analyze critical metrics
  • Perform risk assessments and identify cost drivers
  • Research and analyze manufacturing methods, production times, and materials
  • Create and submit estimate reports or bids to project managers and sales teams
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and statements of work
  • Utilize ERP and other quoting systems to develop estimates
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and process standardization

Required skills

  • Fluency in manufacturing processes
  • Strong knowledge of bills of material and routings for metal products
  • Experience with ERP estimating systems
  • Understanding of GD&T, welding symbols, and AWS/ASME welding codes
  • Basic mathematics and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
