Overview

Calhoun Construction Services Inc is looking for an Estimator to join their team in Louisville, Kentucky. The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating and a passion for success in both their career and the community.

Key responsibilities

  • Review, create, and submit detailed estimates and proposals
  • Prepare high level quantity and manpower take-offs
  • Prospect and procure new bid opportunities
  • Analyze plans, specifications, and documentation for bid estimates
  • Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and coordination meetings
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and peers

Required skills

  • 2-5 years of experience as a commercial construction estimator
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff preferred
  • Understanding of construction processes and terminology
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Excellent math skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
