Job Description

Overview

The Estimator at Groom Construction Co Inc will be responsible for accurately estimating commercial and institutional construction projects by interpreting specifications and drawings. The role requires a self-motivated individual capable of managing both team and independent projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and submit proposals including budgeting and scheduling
  • Manage subcontractor invitations to bid and perform scope takeoffs
  • Conduct project buyout and contracting after project award
  • Collect and analyze information to resolve cost discrepancies
  • Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Familiarity with blueprints and ability to read plans
  • Experience in Construction Project Management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Procore, On-screen Takeoff (OST), and Building Connected
  • 3-5 years of construction experience preferred
