Carolina Estate Planning is seeking an experienced Estate Attorney to join their growing firm in Winston Salem, North Carolina. This role emphasizes delivering high-quality estate planning services, while fostering meaningful client relationships and navigating complex legal cases.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date client files
  • Discuss asset distribution plans with clients
  • Advise clients on retirement, charitable giving, and insurance options
  • Consult with prospective clients and guide them through the estate planning process
  • Provide expert legal counsel and deliver comprehensive estate planning products
  • Research and execute complex, customized estate plans
  • Educate clients on various estate planning strategies
  • Guide clients through the probate process with actionable advice
  • Represent clients in uncontested guardianship and probate hearings
  • Attend court proceedings as needed

Required skills

  • Active North Carolina Bar license in good standing
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • 5+ years of experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration
  • Exceptional communication skills for sensitive situations
  • Strong knowledge of complex trust planning, probate, and trust administration
  • Experience with WealthDocx Estate Planning or ElderDocx Elder Law software (preferred)
  • LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning & Probate Board Certified Specialist designation (preferred)
