Provides pre-hospital care in accordance with State Department of Health EMS Regulations and department protocols. Position Details: QualificationsEducation: Completion of fire training.Licensure: EMT-Paramedic license in the state of practice. Valid driver's license, good driving record that is insurable.Experience: None.Certifications: National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as Paramedic. PR certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support.Other: Must be physically fit and able to pass medical exam and physical ability test. Radio communication skills essential. Must be able to interact with outside agencies such as law enforcement and receiving hospitals. Must be able to operate emergency vehicles safely. Maintain currency in Emergency Vehicle Operators Course. Must be able to interact effectively with all public and/or corporate businesses and their management and staff in a positive manner that respects their organization yet projects Mercy Standards.Preferred Education: Some college hours preferred. Formal fire training preferred.Preferred Licensure: None.Preferred Experience: One year EMS experience preferred, either as Basic or higher.Preferred Certifications: Certification by some fire agency preferred.Preferred Other: mechanical engineering skills preferred.
